Letting Go

Picture two people on a cliff,

one clinging to the other off the edge.

Now you say to me “just let it go”

I wonder if I am the one hanging,

Or the one holding?

But I’ve just let go so we will see

What will be the impact?

Have I saved or sacrificed myself?

Doesn’t matter.

The strain of the past on the present

Is no longer the option.

And the freedom of the decision

is delectable.
